Is Marte's Run For Real?

By Greg Thiemann

It was a contest devoid of pace yesterday because of the massive drizzle break in the heart of the game. Jeremy Sowers was throwing like a fourth or fifth starter when the rain ended his night following 4.two innings and 77 pitches.

He was spreading hits while giving up two ERs. The Tribe was losing two-1 when the precipitation break started. The Tribe did their destruction after the break in the 6th inning. Peralta was fanned, Valbuena had a base hit, and LaPorta singled behind him to put men on 1st and 2nd.

LaPorta was 4-4 with a two bagger to bring his batting average to 0.296. Marte arrived after that and belted the team to a win.

As there were two strikes on him, Marte did the terrific task of working the count. He fouled one into the stands and then watched two balls before pulling one into the right field corner for a triple.

As I see it, Andy Marte is a conundrum. This year is either a curiosity or it is all beginning to make sense for the young talent who is just in his younger seasons for a baseball player.

Is he finally starting to attain it, or is it real and downright not real? I won't pretend to be a smart enough MLB man in terms of evaluating ability to tell Cleveland what they must do. Nonetheless, I am always prone to a bettor's belief of fundamentally any scenario.

My bettor's intuition with Travis Hafner was that it was a great idea to lock that guy up. How did I carry out on that gamble? On the other hand, every of these wagers on talent exists in a vacuum. By that I denote, you 't possibly presuppose anything regarding gambling on Marte since we missed the mark so liberally on Hafner.

Karma is an interesting way of thinking to ponder about, but in the end it only shows up when you believe you observe it and when you're creating self-fulfilling prophecies. I guess at this period of the game, calculating how much attention Marte has cost the team by now, I would seek to trade this lousy stock while it has a short-lived high point.

Certainly, he may move on to his next team to grow to be a dynamic competitor, but you have to expect whatever you heave back in return is even more prolific.
