Is The iMac Worth It?

By Claire Greenway

The Apple iMac is one of the most wanted all-in-one desktop computers on the market. It's
the number one preference for most composers, graphic and web designers around the world.

The first thing you notice with the iMac is its huge 24-inch screen. The display has an amazing 1080p
resolution of 1,920x1,080 pixels. This provides the potential to play and edit amazing HD video at it's pproper
resolution.

Since the last release, nothing much has really changed with the iMac, apart from it's huge 24-inch display.
The amazing white screen will fit perfectly into any room.

The keyboard on the iMac has the same design as all other keyboards on Apple desktops
and laptops. The separate keys mean that your spelling mistakes will be scarce.

One noticeable thing about the iMac is that the whole computer is built inside the screen, and so there's no
need to have a bulky computer box to go with your monitor. There's a slot-loading disc drive
on the side of the iMac.

The iMac can boast some impressive specifications; the 3.06GHz processor, 4GB of RAM and 640GB hard drive makes
the iMac a great competitor to Windows-based all-in-ones in the same price range.

Apple does offer a memory upgrade to 8GB of RAM and a hard drive upgrade to 1TB, but since it's Apple this upgrade
is extremely costly.

The iMac uses Mac OS X 10.5.6, more commonly known as Leopard, as its operating system. This sleek, stylish and functional
OS should fail to please nobody.

At about $1500, the iMac is quite expensive. Nevertheless, if you're looking for an all-in-one in this price range, the iMac is the
way to go.

Although costly, the iMac is arguably the best all-in-one computer on the market at the moment.
